My second wife was jealous of my cat who had been with me seven years before I met her. After living together two years, she tried to tell me she was allergic to my cat. I once had a roommate who was allergic to cats; believe me, it doesn’t take two years to notice.
I told her to see if a doctor said she was allergic to cats. The allergist told her she was not allergic to cats but she might be allergic to something the cat brought in on its fur. My wife suggested the cat should sleep in another room.
At that point, I recognized it as one of her “power plays”. I said, “We could try that but I’m going to sleep in the room with the cat.”
!!!!!
Never heard a peep (sneeze or sniffle) about my cat and allergies again.
