Man: I booked my own flight...booked my own hotel...booked my own rental car...downloaded my own maps...Now I'll fill my own coffee mug...pack my own in-flight meal...pump my own gas...drive and park my own car...print my own boarding card.......And fly to a spa where I'll pay someone $75 an hour to teach me how to breathe. Cathy: Close, but still not a completely self-serve world...

I suppose there is a significant difference between self serve and self-serving. Isn’t there?

For my DH, work was his vacation. He loved it that much. Vacations were the work part, so we never had one.

We are getting close to the do everything yourself world described in the strip. I don’t fill my own coffee mug (don’t drink coffee anyway and a bottle or can of Coke does not need to be filled by me) and I don’t pack my in-flight meal. The rest all fits. Too bad personal service is becoming rare. Glad the small local shops still provide it.
I do love my work so do not need a vacation from it – not directly anyway. Need a vacation from sitting in front of a computer up to 12 hours a day and from partnership politics. That last one is the reason I am trying to retire – although only from the partnership. I still want to develop software as I love doing that part. Ah well, got to take the bad to get the good I guess.
Ah, a sunny Saturday. Time to enjoy mowing the lawn. I hope you enjoy your Saturday as well.
