I’ve missed my TiVo ever since we moved 10 months ago. We now live in a place so far away from the nearest t.v. broadcasting stations that we can’t pick up local signals reliably enough to watch, let alone record. And while we do have the recording ability of the cable channels through DirecTV Now, it’s really hit or miss with them most of the time. The CW channel won’t record at all, and we usually have to record the t.v. show in front of the one we really want to record (and the one in back of it too) because the beginning (or the end) of the show will get cut off and since we never know which one it will be, we always have to plan for both contingencies. It’s really quite pathetic. Getting cable t.v. channels over the internet may be less expensive than going through a cable company but I sure do miss the reliability the cable companies offer when it comes to pretty much everything else — especially their recording capabilities.

When I bought our first TiVo, my wife asked me, “What do we need that for we have a VCR?” Now she records more stuff than I do!
