Cathy, he ran off for a reason. Any time a man hears the dreaded words “We need to talk,” it’s a DEFCON 5 situation for him, especially when he already knows that his other half is in a foul mood!
No matter who says it, very rarely does anything good ever come from a sentence beginning with the words “We need to talk” because that usually means a bomb is getting ready to drop and it’s almost never good news for the person on the receiving end of it. Of course, more dangerous for MY husband are the words “I’ve been thinking …..” because that usually means I’ve got an idea in mind or a job of some sort that I’d like him to do for me — especially with us being in a new house and renovating the terrace level for my mother to eventually move into (LOL)! :-D

I don’t see why “WE need to talk” because she had a bad day trying on impossible bathing suits and found out her friend is pregnant. Of course, Irving could have stuck around and just heard her out….but ……
