For heaven’s sake! Give to decent charities, local animal shelters, food banks and facilities for the homeless, Salvation Army! There are plenty of worthy causes out there that would appreciate more financial help. Don’t make the pet toy industry richer this year unless you pass them out to shelter pets. Stick on a Santa hat and go watch yourself make them happy.

It’s crazy how much money people spend on stuff for their pets. Luckily I have cats who get excited over an empty box.

I agree with you, summerdog! I’m sure Cathy’s dogs would never be able to play or eat all of that, nor would they care. So excessive!

    .

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a good day!

We buy pet toys because pork knuckles are cheaper than a new couch. Our husky puppy will eat anything that she can fit in her mouth.

We usually buy our dog two new toys every Christmas and one for her birthday (and my mother does the same). Every other year or so, we go through the pile and anything that’s in good, some-

times even new, condition because it’s hardly (if ever) been played with gets bagged up, taken to the local animal shelter and given to the poor pooches down there that don’t have a home and loving pet parents of their own to buy them a “new” toy for Christmas. We feel really good doing it but hopefully and most importantly, it makes their lives just a little bit happier during the holiday season too! :-)

    Hi, rgcviper! :-)

Hello and Happy Wednesday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone had a really nice day today! :-)

We buy (big) “catnip rats” from a woman at the Farmer’s Market. She grows her own catnip, knits them by hand, and sells them for a pittance. The cats love them and everybody gets their own (which lasts about 45 seconds). The videos are priceless. The only problem is that if we don’t get the old ones in the trash the first night, by morning we can’t tell which are the new ones. And there is a catnip rat in every cat bed in the house….usually being used as a pillow.

AACK! Apparently, Cathy hasn’t been introduced to a little thing called restraint yet. But, then, should I expect anything different from her?

HI, MOM. Good for you, regarding your donations of the pet toys to shelters. I’m sure you’re making the lives of a number of critters a little brighter.

    Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
