Oh, for the love of all that’s holy, Mom!!! Please loosen the apron strings just a little bit and allow your “little girl” to go on a guilt-free vacation for a whole week without you so that she can get away from it all and spend some quality time with her poor, often neglected dog. Sheesh!!!!!

I don’t think dogs can tell how much time has passed – 5 seconds, 5 days, all the same to them. At least they certainly behave that way when they see you again.

My cats do the total guilt trip on me before I leave, and then seem to go into hibernation while I’m gone — no toys are touched, no fur anywhere, but they do eat like little piggies.
