There used to be an airline pilot (international flights) who always used to eat at the Pizzeria Italia in Bearwood, near Birmingham (the original Birmingham)because he thought they were the best. He had the world to choose from.
What cracks me up about pizza is that everyone considers it an Italian food…yes, it originated in Italy, but what we consider “pizza” in the US is very different.

In Rome, unless you order your pizza special…standard pizza is olive oil, garlic, and anchovies… No tomatoes.
