There was a time when Republicans would have been working hand in glove with the Democrats for legislation to protect women. Under our current cannibalistic congress, women, children, and all of the rest of us are merely negotiable pieces in the power games being played between parties, lobbyists, and special interest groups. Women are not protected from husbands who leave them and their children to financial hardship. They are criticized if they want to avoid having a child that was the result of rape, incest, or might kill the mother. They are underpaid by employers, and in some fields, domestic services for instance, they have little or no protections. They have health considerations unique to their physiology, but apparently not appreciated by too many males- even doctors. They are usually more at risk of spousal abuse and the news is full of stories of men who "walk through restraining orders’ to abuse or kill them. In some instances, men have shown up at girlfriends’/wives’ job sites and killed the woman and coworkers. If you’re not man enough to protect women from violence, you probably aren’t “man enough” to be a woman. If you don’t know what that means, you’re probably part of the problem.Respectfully,C.

Since traditional marriage is between a man and woman, maybe the GOP can push for traditional voting, which is between a man and his candidate.

    To Ima,

Civil rights was initially a bipartisan issue with members of both parties voting on both sides of the issue. As the democratic party became more the party of civil rights, southern Democrats switched parties.

I guess this cartoon refers to something already illegal with some “feel good” legislation that wants to make it more illegal.

Southern Democrats. Not the same as Northern Democrats. And, as Johnson predicted, the Civil Rights act is how Democrats lost the South.

Not a family value. Selling daughters, now that is in Exodus.

The GOP is just that clueless; either that or they’re punishing women for not voting for them.

Really, Ima, you might try reading the inside of a history book instead of looking at the pictures.

I wrote a check this morning & dated it ‘2012’ by mistake. I bet you’re still dating checks ‘1962’.Do you think it’s relevant to bring up the time when the KKK ran the Indiana Republican Party?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_L._Jackson
