“…..If you’re a reasonable person and can think it through, you can come to no conclusion other than that more guns is the answer, not less….”.A lot of reasonable people have thought it through and have come to the conclusion that your suggestion is about as idiotic as its possible to get.
A popular quote by the gun lobby that may or may not have had relevance in the 1940s, but going by the wave of shootings lately, you would now have to conclude that an armed society is a violent society.
Maybe if more Americans went back to again caring about people, people would get health care, mental health care, jobs from American corporations that have shipped all the jobs overseas, and politicians and justices who realize that corporations are NOT “people”.
Penn and Teller did a Showtime episode on their series called BULL$HIT that concluded that violent video games do not incite further violence in the players. That seems counter-intuitive but I’m willing to accept it as fact – they could not find hard evidence one way or the other. Yes I realize they are entertainers not journalists but assuming that is true do you think violence in movies and TV cause people to be numb to real violence? I would like to hear the thoughts of others.
Over and over gun-people quote this line from “Beyond This Horizon”, which is surely one of Heinlein’s weakest novels. You might try “Tunnel in the Sky”, which has a lot to say about why government is necessary and why people have to work together.
@radishharvard! be serious, harvard is a radical left-wing organization and was discredited a long time ago. Isn’t obama from harvard?!see that proves it!
I read it – interesting and I agree that it is sounds logically true – but they do not cite any actual evidence to support their case. They say that boys spend 13 hours average doing this stuff. If that is true, seems like we should have killings every week.
^that’s a bit of twisted logic. if terminating a pregnancy was mandatory by law, i’d agree with you. I know of NO such law that requires a woman to terminate a pregnancy.please give us an example of one.

Do you think I give up my seat on the bus or train to a pregnant woman because I think if I don’t, she might shoot me?
