PHANTOM: It sure looks like somebody has been using the lion to try to get the villagers to move away…and it appears that the most likely suspects are the rare-earth miners. This strip made me aware of rare-earth mining and I was interested to read in the newspaper yesterday that a company that uses rare-earth minerals for a theft-deterrent system has recently opened an office in this area; the article notes that this theft-deterrent system has been used in England for several years (google “SmartWater CSI”—without the quote marks).
REX MORGAN: I walked barefoot on the Atlantic Ocean beach early yesterday morning, so I sure hope that’s a plastic glass. Why did June have a glass of wine at lunch, but now declines to have a drink with Rex? (if she were pregnant, wouldn’t she be declining wine altogether?)MARY WORTH: What are some antonyms for “interesting”? (“boring,” “dull,” “monotonous,” “tedious,” “uninteresting,” and “zzzzzzz”) Here’s hoping this story picks up (the pace) soon…
Mark Trail – And this is what we’ve been dreading. Otto is willing to let Mark go, but the other thugs don’t have to do what Otto says.Phantom – The device probably produces an electric shock when the lion reaches a certain point.
Phantom: What someone has been using on the lion is like the invisible fence that they use to keep dogs from leaving their yard. The only difference is that the device is in their collar.Mary Worth: As I’ve said before, all the writer of this strip knows is being slow and boring.
REX- USUALLY glass is never allowed at beaches and pools.that bottle is GLASS !!—Also, Rex never had lunch, drinking on an empty stomach,he be primed for the party :-)
3G- Margo, at least you have the bottle of wine to yourself!!
MW-Bla bla bla- that John’s a real" DILLY"- huh? :-)
JP- New storyline?- Another movie deal— Always wondered what goes on in chambers ? -sometimes, behind closed doors!
Phantom – My impression is that the older villagers who are superstitious thought the returning lion was a sign the gods are angry about the mining. This would actually harden their position against the mining and the young queen.Mark Trail – Watch your back! The other two have not agreed to this deal. A3G – It’s a mistake to call Evan, though maybe she will catch on that he’s not where he’s supposed to be.Rex – What does this portend? Maybe just a public service announcement about the benefits of moderate drinking: no more than one drink a day for women.

I’m getting tired of the MARY WORTH plots. They move along so s l o o o l y.
APT3G: If Margo calls Evan on his cell phone, she won’t realize that he’s still nearby in the city. maybe Greg will come to the rescuw.
REX MORGAN: Good to see the Morgans enjoying themselves, but why don’t they swim?
