There’s nothing sacred about “normal” either, since “normal” simply means “the way most people are.” Would you rather to be Honest, or “normally” honest? Intelligent, or “normally” intelligent? Happy, or “normally” happy?

    @Theophilous Joiner

Actually, there is a lot in the Bible even very religious People dont acept and live after it anymore. Look at Womens Rights in the Bible. There are hundrets of Verses that say, that the woman should be beneath the man, and that she has to be calm in the comunity.

For Example:“1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. "

Fact is, that there are many lines, that dont matter to present Christian people, because the Time has changes. There is no reason, to ignore those Lines, that say negative stuff about Gay people.

By the Way: I am an atheist, gay german person, that thinks, that bible and god are manmade and that people should think with their own brain but beliving blindly in a book and stuff and authority wants them to belive in.

Take comfort — this prejudice is quickly becoming the minority opinion. People like Theophilous will soon be isolated voices.

Of course since I don’t accept that the Bible is a pretty good guide for human behavior, and I certainly don’t accept it as the revealed word of God, I don’t have to take any of your comment seriously at all.

Well, god bless, we sure have a lot to comment on today. There are those good Christians who would stone mastercain and those Christians, or not so christian, who would just say hello. One thing is sure, my marriage is what it is because of what my wife and I make of it, not because of someone else’s marriage.

Although I understand your anger, I also don’t understand people who want to change the Bible in order to fit their view of God. Yes the Anti-homosexuality stuff comes from the law of Moses and Paul, but Jesus stated that “Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” (Matt 5:18).

Before you attack me, I’m one of those people who walked away from Christianity after reading the Bible more than a few times, front to back.

geez, according to the church my parents foisted upon me, i understood that ‘we’ are the mind of God…. or rather God is a figment of the imaginations of those who can’t handle reality and need an invisible friend to boss them around and condemn them that are different from those who can’t handle reality… it’s all so convoluted that I’d just rather deal with what is

“the bible is not only a pretty good guide for human behavior, or accept it as the revealed word of god”Leviticus 14:44-45“the priest is to go and examine it and, if the mold has spread in the house, it is a persistent defiling mold; the house is unclean. It must be torn down—its stones, timbers and all the plaster.” Does the priest inform the lender before we destroy the house? Does shower mildew count as “defiling mold”?Exodus 35:2“For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a day of sabbath rest to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it is to be put to death.” I assume these should be public executions? Should the executions take place at the convenience store, gas station, restaurant or supermarket where the deviant behavior is occurring?Exodus 21:20-21“Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property." So if I beat my slave so severely that it takes three days for the slave to recover, than my behavior is “bad for society and individuals”, but two days ok? What if I force my slave to say ’he’s ok’ at end of the second day even if he still has serious internal bleeding?I’ll have more questions when I get a chance . . .

If you really are a christian, and read the bible in the spirit in which it’s intended, and don’t simply use it as a justification for you own prejudice and bigotry, You’ll also note that it advocates loving everyone. It doesn’t make exceptions for people you don’t agree with. Even if you don’t approve of homosexuality, what other people do with their lives is their responsibility, and they’re still your fellow human beings.

The overwhelming theme of the bible is Love. If you’d actually READ it, you’d decline from making such amazingly distasteful comments.

West Wing episode #25 (The Midterms)

President Josiah Bartlet: Good. I like your show. I like how you call homosexuality an abomination.

Dr. Jenna Jacobs: I don’t say homosexuality is an abomination, Mr. President. The Bible does.

President Josiah Bartlet: Yes it does. Leviticus.

    Dr. Jenna Jacobs: 18:22.

President Josiah Bartlet: Chapter and verse. I wanted to ask you a couple of questions while I have you here. I’m interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She’s a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent Italian, always cleared the table when it was her turn. What would a good price for her be? While thinking about that, can I ask another? My Chief of Staff Leo McGarry insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself or is it okay to call the police? Here’s one that’s really important because we’ve got a lot of sports fans in this town: touching the skin of a dead pig makes one unclean. Leviticus 11:7. If they promise to wear gloves, can the Washington Redskins still play football? Can Notre Dame? Can West Point? Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother John for planting different crops side by side? Can I burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads? Think about those questions, would you? One last thing: while you may be mistaking this for your monthly meeting of the Ignorant Tight-Ass Club, in this building, when the President stands, nobody sits.

What you BELIEVE is mostly irrelevant to the truth. You’re a speedbump to sanity, rationality and justice. And the world is rolling over you at a surprising velocity.

And don’t forget that Leviticus calls the eating of shellfish to be an abomination, as well. Do you see anyone calling for a constitutional amendment to remove the rights of people who eat shrimp? Do we have websites devoted to the outing of private information of people who provide shellfish? Do we give their home address with the hope that someone will take them out? Do we take pictures of the license plates of the cars parked at Red Lobster?

Theophilous Joiner, wicked people tried to kill God’s people all through the Bible record from Adam to the first century AD.Any post that takes God seriously in the written Word, the Bible, will be a target…but God wants believers to be witnesses, so that all humans will hear the truth about every human child since Adam is born a sinner in need of forgiveness and regeneration, spiritually. -on US legalizing sins, at www.cnsnews.com as of 12/10/12, there is an article by Christian author and Pastor John MacArthur…..“Democrats ‘Adopted the Sins of Roman 1 As their Party Platform’…”which quotes the pertinent scriptures….there is also another scripture where God said “I Am God and I change not”…so what God’s Word says needs to be said only once, forever.Among the multitudes of sins, homosexuality is a sin of abomination, against the nature God created in mankind.Every human has the sin nature, but God offers to the believer who repents, His indwelling presence helping us to deny urges to sin. Heterosexuals can deny the urge to sin by fornication or adultery and Homosexuals can deny the urge to sin against God by practising perverted sex acts. An eternity in Hell apart from God is a high price to pay for a temporary delusion of pleasure! That is true for every person.

Statistically, homosexuality is a bit off from the “norm”, but that’s not a moral judgement, just fact. Now that the “book of hate” calls fro stoning almost anyone who doesn’t turn their wealth over to the rabbi, priest, church, mosque, etc calling that book “morality” is likewise a tad insane…

“LIve and let live” is a pretty good idea, NOT taught by “the bible”, old or new edition. Also, finding an adherent of any religion who hasn’t twisted verse to meet HIS goals, makes hen’s teeth an abundant material by comparison.

As to women’s rights in any Abrahamic “faith”, lots a luck, ladies.
