Actually the rich have enough to cover it all and then some. They would just have to stop giving quite as much to the politicians.

Someone, please explain why the 1% or top 2% should not pay their fair share of taxes.

Where are the jobs they are reported to be creating? The last election shows that the voters don’t believe the job creators lie and want the rich rich to pay their fair share of taxes.

Only the poor are being “taxed to death” and really, for the majority of the poor, they aren’t either.

Rich people and their toads in government lied to us for three decades that if we gave them a massive tax cut that it would be a good thing for everyone..It ended up not working out that way..I expect it will take approximately three decades to forget about this lie, or maybe longer since so many people still believe it.

Lisa, and most of the commenters here, seems to be a bitter loser. You lost the election for some very good reasons. Now if you could just stop you paranoid temper tantrums, we could get to work. Wait, that would be too much to hope for……..

So the majority of the so called " compassionate conservatives" like what W, Dick, and Rummy did with their time in office. What does that tell you? When people put their own interests ahead of the common good and dress it up in implausible deniability to justify selfishness and mean spirited actions is that right? Do the majority of them also go to church on Sunday and give each other the “sign of peace” and the rest of the week give everyone who does not agree with their dogma the “finger” is that right? Wrapping yourself in the flag does not change the person inside. Most of the “rich” don’t care about anyone but themselves and plan to keep it that way forever, and that’s right!

Should the rich be taxed more? Probably. The tax code is undeniably in need of serious reform. The rich don’t need to have their rates raised so much as they should be paying their actual tax rate. But like it or not, we are $16 trillion in debt, and anyone who thinks we can pay off the debt by taxing the rich more is clearly uninformed.

It never ceases to amaze me. How do you think the likes of Ann Coulter, Bill Maher, George Clooney and most any other reasonably intelligent person who makes boatloads of money, handles their money? Do you think the likes of those mentioned above personally accept payments into their bank accounts? If you do, you are deluded once again. They all have corporations that receive their payments, they all shelter their income, they all take advantage of the tax laws to reduce the amount of taxes they pay.So your criticism of the “Rich” should include the demagogues you listen to who are playing you for fools.

Look, there’s nothing to argue about…just give a straight across the board % of taxes to pay…no deductions, no excuses, just pay your fair share! And the first ones who should be paying are the government employees that we vote in…THEY should all be fired for fiscal irresponsibility! This is NOT communism, it’s what’s fair.We work hard to make the rich more and more money, we deserve some help for working and purchasing…

not sure because I retired last year I am not paying any taxes this year and mitt paid 2 mill who is not paying thier fair share. Is it the people in goverment that make 174 grand a year (not just senators) and get a ton of benefits including 100 % retirement pay. Or is it the people that pop out kids so then can get welare or thier parents can get money because they are the foster parent to thier kids kid. I’m sorry but we need to get rid of half of the goverment employees and put the people sitting on thier butt to do thier fair share and put them to work on the jobs the govement is paying people to do.
