    Take it all.

    It won’t make a dent in the mess we have now.

    Thankfully, it’s Bush’s fault…

    If this generation of rich can’t survive a petty tax cut, they lose the right to be called rich anyway and someone more resourceful will quickly fill that void.

    It’s not that they can’t survive. They will. It’s the steps they take as businessmen to survive. If costs increase on a business, expenses have to be cut. The biggest expense for just about any company is payroll.

    Let’s see. The top 1% has ten times the wealth it had thirty years ago, while the bottom 50% is poorer. Let’s make sure that the budget is balanced ENTIRELY by cutting programs for the poor, and let’s give more money to the top. Ever wonder why you’re losing the argument? By the way, Obama doesn’t hate the rich (he’s one of them, his books sell well). He just doesn’t see why they should be the ONLY demographic who are off-limits.

    Obama lives high on the Taxpayers’ Expense….a news item quoted by Rush this week said that the UK taxpayers pay for Her Royal Highness living expenses at $58 million a year.But US taxpayers foot the bills at $1.4 Billion a year for Obama.Emperor Obama. Everybody else making over $250,000 annually is “rich” and must be taxed to the Nth Degree according to Scrooge Obama…..who leads the enthusiastic democratic smear of “it’s all Bush’s fault”…..(IMO it is the voters who drink the Jim Jones Koolaid and vote for Obama the Marxist)

    @swr:

    The bottom 47% do indeed pay in. They do not make enough in wages to be required to pay federal income tax. However, just like everyone in every other tax bracket, they pay utilities taxes, excise taxes, tolls, sales taxes, “9/11fees” (check your airline ticket stub), gasoline taxes, etc. Those are a much larger percentage of their income than that of those making, say, $250,000 per. I’m sure you’d agree that it would be nice if these people could make enough money to qualify to pay income taxes, and I’m pretty sure a lot of them would like to be in that position. And the government would be happy to have more people contributing. Not to worry, though, the job creators will take care of everything soon enough.

    I would go so far as to recommend that anyone who thinks that those who don’t earn enough to pay federal income taxes has it so well off should voluntarily reduce their income to that point. Take the highest pay that’s allowed that doesn’t require federal income taxes. Live on that for a year, and see how well off you are. Go ahead, get some food stamps. You’re still eating vienna sausages. And if you happen to have a bad spell, don’t expect anyone other than a predatory lender to help. If a person making more than a quarter mil runs into some trouble, a simple phone call to the bank VP is usually all that is needed.

    Seeing life from the bottom is educational. I got to live it for a while; it’s painful, but I learned a lot.

    Good synopsis of the situation. Easy to understand. Thanks.

    It’s justice to steal from someone? I smell a big load of hypocrisy in your post.

    The joke is, the election proved that the rich aren’t “wanted” — at least, we don’t want them in power.
