no one is doubting there is global warming(sorry climate change) but I live in ohio and the great lakes were carved by ice flows and now there is no ice (except for winter) So yes there is climate change and we are affecting it a little. but the only change that is bad is all the bleeding hearts that are sending their change $ to these thumpers that are getting rich because of it

It is too late to change things now we have passed the tipping point. The best thing to do now is grab all the money we can and hasten the certain end so it will be as painless as possible. Let drill all over the place and crack out all the gas we can so that the we will at least go extinct rich.

Whaaaat? @ronald, @Gary, are you both serious? There are actions we can take to stop adding more CO2, and there are actions we can take that could take it out. Some are looking at megaengineering projects that would permit us to make drastic change, though that is more of a last-ditch approach. But at least neither of you doubt AGW. I expect the usual trolls will appear shortly.

We can only hope the change of attitude we are seeing in insurance companies and states will hasten actions that can help lessen the effects of climate change. There are many job creating and money creating/saving ways to pay for this kind of infrastructure overhaul. Failure to take action will simply make life for all harder and more challenging over time. But the cartoon is hopeful, and so am I.Respectfully,& Happy Holidayze, C.

The world has ALWAYS had periods of extreme weather! Explain how extreme weather happened BEFORE the industrial revolutions…huh? And also, extreme weather, blame global warming, no extreme weather, blame global warming, mild winter or frigid winter….global warming. Drought this year, or too much rain….yep, global warming. You nuts have global warming for your trump card for everything. All it is anymore is a pesky buzzing in the air now….silently fading….

A 12 year old Norquist wrote a “no tax pledge”. Years later, Repulblicans with lower I.Q. and education that 12 year olds signed it. Climate change is much more real than Norquists “plan” doing anything but destroy the economy. Climate change, caused by morons led by folks like Norquist IS real, and a bigger problem.

My questions to those who are skeptical about Climate Change are these…If this is a cyclical pattern, how long do your sources suggest it will last and is there anything we can or should do to effect this dangerous time in the cycle? If you are wrong and climate change is real and is man made, at what point do we start trying to reverse the damage? How many more billions will be paid to restore homes, farms, and businesses damaged or destroyed by drought, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, and blizzards before we spend the billions needed to start doing what we can?Just three questions. Don’t say it climate change doesn’t exist, tell me what you think about the existing climate.I truly am curious.Respectfully,& Happy Holidayze,C

Wouldn’t it be horrible if we worked to reduce pollution, making our environment cleaner, safer, healthier and more beautiful, and then it turned out the anti-science people were right?

It seems like there is climate change this time each year (it gets cold as the winter approaches). This God-made climate change will last until the spring starts coming. Then the climate change will be a warming trend. It is amazing but it happens year after year. And many people are foolish enough to think they are responsible for the climate. I bet God gets a good laugh out of that one.

Parkerfields is just demonstrating the correlation between anti-science climate change deniers and religious fundamentalists. One can also only guess that (1) he wouldn’t be able to give an accurate definition of what evolution is, and (2) is nevertheless certain it also doesn’t exist.

Hey, how about instead of arguing about whether or not climate change is happening or what is causing it WE JUST WORK ON CUTTING BACK ON POLLUTION!

I know it’s a quaint idea, but instead of pointing fingers and name calling, actually working at cleaning the air is going to make things better. Even those who don’t believe in climate change have to admit that yellow air can’t be good for you.

The question: “Is man-made climate change real?” is long over. The question: “Is there anything we can do to stop it?” is over. The question is: “how does human civilization adapt?”The CEO of ExxonMobil has said that man-made climate change is real and we have to adapt.Exxon has cut funding to several think-tanks and other groups that “challenged the need to curb greenhouse gas emissions”.The World Bank — an entity committed to free market capitalism — has weighed in on the threat of climate change and the urgency of acting. The World Bank says we face “unprecedented heat waves, severe drought, and major floods in many regions, with serious impacts on human systems, ecosystems, and associated services”.‘Deniers’ are losing their last few friends.

The actual answer is the building and rebuilding goes on because corporations can reap profits from doing so, with complete disregard for the safety of doing so.Not to say you aren’t correct about the stupidity of the average American voter, of course. That, combined with the Republicans’ mastery of getting people to vote against their own best interests is how Romney got so close to destroying the country…guess that’s what Onguard was referring to.

Onguard, just why are you so pro-pollution? What scares you so much about cleaning up the environment? Is it simply that you put short-term corporate profits ahead of the well-being of future generations? That is, because you’re a Republican?

Re: CO2 . . . you’re not really that stupid on the role of CO2, correct? You’re just trying to stir things up? Nothin better to do?

I also poop, and trees would also love that, Onguard. So is it okay if I poop in your bedroom, since you obviously wouldn’t consider that pollution? You definitely win the award for the strangest way of defining pollution.By the way, I couldn’t help but notice that you didn’t answer my question.

Onguard also conveniently forgets that the number of trees continues to dwindle, from the rainforests to the replacement of California orchards with condos.
