Will Congress cap the subsidies our tax dollars are providing to the oil companies and other mining businesses harvesting minerals and chemicals from our soil and seabeds? I hear talk of taking away the child deduction on taxes, but no one has mentioned oil subsidies or gold mining subsidies/freebies since the elections ended.curiously,C.

In most cases, companies extracting chemicals and minerals out of the earth pay a miniscule amount of money to do so, and the CEOs of those companies still want low taxes, less regulation, and 7 figure salaries and bonuses.I do believe there is a net loss to the Government for what they give to these companies. And Ima-I just heard the radio ask for people to join a local cities volunteer fire department and EMTs. Some of your income subsidizes people who work a full time job and still volunteer to respond to people just like you when they are having a life threatening emergency. When corporations invest their money in maintaining the roads and power lines that get to the buildings, when they provide the facilities where employees can buy food and clothes and power, I’ll be more wiling to let companies keep their subsidies, but as long as taxes pay for roads and infrastructure, I’m afraid I will want them to pay their fair share, even more than their fare share when profits are as high as they are for some.Respectfully,C.
You can form an LLC and put all of your savings in it.Then if you cause a traffic accident or have an illness and you are sued, your money won’t go anywhere.

So far in 2012, it is still the cheapest fuel available. Gas and oil is used to produce electricity….the NY and NJ areas found out how important electricity is..when it was cut off by the superstorm Sandy.-it is easy to criticize and condemn people who have paid the price, money and time and effort and far more than 8 hour workdays…to succeed in building a profitable industry that humans NEED. But when you curse the OIL CO’s, you expose your own pettiness.
