    ANY state can secede…secession is basically telling the status quo to bugger off….Im sure it wasnt “legal” for the colonies to secede from Great Britian at the time.

    The worst thing about Texas splitting (and the thing that most people forget) is that the same region would get eight new senators and, possibly, more seats in the House. They’ve got too many crackpots in congress as it is. One Louis Gomert is more than enough. I’d rather see them leave than split up.

    Let them secede. Help solve the budget problem as the federal government spends more in Texas then it receives in revenue.
