In response to an earlierf Benson’s cartoons, I once trashed Chris Christie pretty good. ( It was regarding the untruths contained in his keynote address to the RNC. )

    []

I still believe what I said, and I’m not going to take any of it back, just because Governor Christie is heaping praise on President Obama.

    []

But Obama aside, I must say that Chris Christie’s own response to Hurricane Sandy his been nothing short of outstanding. “Screw poiitics, I have a job to do.” Every time I see him interviewed, he looks like he’s been working all night. Whatever else I may think of Chris Christie, he’s a good man in a tight spot….and I have to give him credit for that

Morty, .Pleople should get credit for what they do and accept resposibility for what they do and do’;t do. I give Gov. Christie credit for acknowledging that the President is doing a good job in the relief effort. Mitt could only say he would have done a better job and started a canned food drive for the Red Cross that they didn’t want. OK! Thanks for the can of stew. How do I cook it with no gas or electric?

I think it’s refreshing & admirable that 2 parties can come together in a crisis. Instead of placing blame on each other they’re working together for the common good. Hopefully we can see this same kind of cooperation after the election & find a solution to the impending fiscal cliff approaching us on Jan 1st.

I agree with Simon: it WAS rewarding to see BOTH Christie and Obama working effectively in the offices they took on when the “chips were down”. FEMA IS working right, which did NOT happen under “W”, or his dad. Competent appointees have made a huge difference, for three years, not just in this incident with “Sandy”. Christie is just the one getting involved this year, for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, with “mega-storms”. Something else to think about.

I really, truly, do NOT care what “party” a person is in, IF THEY ARE EFFECTIVE IN OFFICE! The neocons backed by AEI, “Heritage Foundation”, and other ULTRA RIGHT WING GROUPS, have NOT been effective for America. NOTE: that does NOT equate to “Republicans”. The fact is that most candidates running AS “republicans” backed by AEI etc., are NOT “Republicans”. The JBS by the way are NOT representative of “Republican”, but rather Fascism, as does AEI. The difference is important.

Christie has finally shown he CAN function as a Republican, and “function” is KEY to that “difference”.

You have that correct. Also, even if there were no liberal enemy to contend with; there would still no help to any 99% Americans.

No, no, Christie is exhibiting typical Republican behavior. The people getting Federal aid deserve it. They earned it. When a disaster hits a blue state, Christie will go back to saying that states should be responsible for their own disaster relief and recovery. And he won’t blink or blush when someone points out the inconsistency of his positions. Trust me, I know!

Gov. Blanco declared a state of emergency in LA at the same time as the other governors in areas affected by Katrina. Bush’s incompetent administration tried to pass the buck by claiming Blanco hadn’t declared an emergency, but this has been conclusively proven to be a lie.My administration would avoid that mistake by eliminating Federal aid in disasters.

Ima, expecting power to be restored to 8 million homes, and to rebuild thousands of homes in 5 days?

The walls of your Fox News/Rush/Beck bubble must be really thick. For your sake, I hope they are padded.
