Good morning, Vagabonds. Today I have an appointment with the cardiologist to see why I’m out of breath when I walk just a few blocks or up the subway stairs.

There are now 23 states whose citizens are petitioning the White House for the right to secede, but only Texas has the required 25,000 signatures to be given a response. I know the prez won’t do anything about it. He’ll read it and laugh at it and chuck in the garbage. But it still shows the seriousness of the current situation. Actually, if it ever became a “real” issue, I’d vote for it in a New York minute.
Florchi, I’ve never heard of that. Very interesting. Another interesting petition in the works is to allow the city of Austin to withdraw from Texas and remain a part of the U.S. It currently has more than 3,000 signatures.
Gooooooooooood moooooorning Vaaaaaaagaaaaabonds..I have heard of the Conch Republic, but I didn’t remember the details..In 1991 the 200th anniversary of the statehood of Vermont there was a vote to see if the citizens of Vt wanted to remain in the union. It was part of the statehood agreement to see if after 200 yrs whether or not to remain part of the USA or go back to being a republic..Well I hope my memory is correct..ttfn
If I remember right, Texas’ agreement to join the US included the option to withdraw at any time. It also gave Texas the right to split up into five separate states if desired.
Hurray for Texas! I heard that Texas has a balanced budget, and North Carolina has a balanced budget…….and …….drum roll please……..Montana has a 400 MILLION SURPLUS!!!! Woo Hoo! We’ve had a Democrat Governor, and a Republican Legislature……………………does that tell you how it’s done?
Anyway…….my cancer check up went VERY well…….another Woo Hoo!!!. All the blood work was great, the lung x-ray was normal, and I will come back again in 3 months for a routine check up. HURRAY!!
