The Taliban are the conservatives in their culture. Just saying…

Ignorance fears learning.

Odd that in their culture it’s ok to have “dancing boys” but they’ll freak out if a girl reads a book.

You are equating people who shoot little girls in the head for thinking with people who disagree with you? How do you manage to sleep at night? i’d think your massive ego would crowd your body out.

The education the Taliban reject is the same we see in this country in the argument against the “liberal elite”, which is code for “educated people”. They especially don’t want girls educated, for the same reason “conservatives” objected to the “Lilly Ledbetter Act” assuring equal pay for equal work??

I’ve known a lot of people with little “formal education”, and a lot of common sense, who were very bright, creative, and knowledgable. What bothers me is the folks in this country who LACK common sense, and formal education, OR knowledge, but still insist we must go back to the 12th century.

Those latter folks ARE the extreme right-wing who don’t recognize the tyranny of the “conservative elites” in industry, and politics, who can gain their support, even when they’re being screwed. They are NOT “modern day patriots” throwing tea overboard, they’re being keel-hauled, and don’t even feel it.

Just got a copy of the “Constitution Party” platform, nobody can say we don’t have our “Christian Taliban” here at home.

Perhaps they aren not true but ansonia was told to believe it by his/her leaders and will do so without question. Independent thinking is not allowed.
