Common sense says NEVER drink liquid nitrogen. Rough lesson to learn for that young lady. So in this case the Bar in question will more than likely not be blamed in any way.
They should stick to dry ice. It’s colder than water ice but WAY warmer than liquid nitro. And also not liquid. .I once had a drink with a piece of dry ice in it. It was bubbling with water vapor pouring out of it, like some evil scientist’s potion or something. “Don’t swallow the ice lump!” says the evil scientist.
Thanks Darrin Bell and Theron Heir for this obvious homage’ to “Dr Horrible’s Singalong Blog of 2008”, carried on “the CW” channel last week.

DrH won an Emmy (!) 3 or 4 years BEFORE it’s first appearance on the tube. More here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1227926

For the uninformed this 42 minute internet streamer opened with the sympathetic character (played by Neil Patrick Harris) practicing his evil laugh, mentions his vocal coach also.
You are conflating the well known effects of a long term habit with a single drink prepared by a licensed pub. Prepared and served properly, it is no more dangerous than any other alcoholic beverage.
Most people would not make the correct association between the movies using nitro, the bar using nitro and the ‘real’ stuff. The drink is legal in England. After this accident, probably not legal for long. .Most people would know the liquid nitrogen would cool things dramatically, but since the drink was legal… believe it was safe to drink.. … Until I had read the entire article, had thought the bar chilled the glasses with the nitrogen. … Would what that girl thought when she ordered that drink.
