Katy: Today is November 11th. You know what that means? Clayton: Leonardo Dicaprio's birthday? Katy: It's also 11-11 the one time all year that the date and the month are the same four digits. Clayton: That's not true! Is it? Katy: Today is a day of destiny! Something big is going to happen! Clayton: Like what? Katy: That's the beauty of it! We just don't know. Maybe Batman rings our doorbell. Clayton: Batman doesn't ring doorbells. Katy: It's 11-11 anything can happen! Clayton: Hmm. I'd better put on my good sweatpants. Katy: And look! The clock is at 11:10 destiny approaches! Clayton: Or should I go for my boy wonder costume? Just in case.

Are you aware that at 11.00 hrs. of the eleventh of November 1918 the Armistice that put and end to The Great War was signed? In most parts of the ciilised world, it is a day of solemn remembrance for the wouned and fallen of that conflict and all subsequent conflicts.

Disappointed with Adam@Home for being a year late and an appropriate sentiment short, but it has made me aware of the time. Got to get my son to the Armory to assemble for the Remembrance Day march and service. He’s in the Sea Cadet band.

Personally I am waiting for 12/12/12 12:12AM and PM. Now one of those is surely what the Mayans should have called the end of days.

Well, I guess since they’re kids we can give them a break on the Veterans day miss. I’m sure someone will clue them in later in the day. Hopefully. Now I have to go put out my flag!

Actually, I think this will be the last time where month/day/year will match this millennium.

I’m missing something. Veterans Day is tomorrow, no?
chipapi09 over 11 years ago
@ironhand,tomorrow is the day where some people will be released from school, work etc. However November 11 is the actual day.Showing my age here but growing up it was known as Armistice Day in honor of the signing the pact ending hostilities at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day in the eleventh month.

BUT last year, on Nov. 11, it was a once a century occurrence, when the numbers are ALL the same … (20)(19)11/11/11

Not every comic has to honor Veterans’ Day today, but this acted like it was leading up to it and then just fell flat. Very disappointing.

Starting off by asking what is special about this day and then turning it into something inconsequential was an extraordinary mean affront to families who are spending the day remembering its true special nature because they lost a family member in a war. That can be said without advocating war and without being a veteran. It was an extremely disappointing strip.
