I’ve wondered why the Afghan army is issued those Russian helmets and AKs- or are the from Israel, or Egypt’s stockpiles?

Because they know know the AK is heads and shoulders over the M-16

Ak is heads and shoulders above m16 for durability, simplicity of operation and care, and firepower. The M16 is the more accurate, and I’m guessing- better in effective range. I believe Afghanistan had their own soviet-era stockpile…I’m not sure.

If the Afghanis are as drugged and hapless as Mr Morin seems to think, one can’t help wondering why they are able to resist more than 200000 soldiers and mercenaries from the US and its satellites. Or if the cartoon refers specifically to the so-called Afghan Army, why its soldiers are so much less motivated than their countrymen on the other side….
