Can anyone imagine the love-fest that would have been unleashed by the MSM and the rest of the Democratic Party were something as this happened under GWB . . . . .?!!?
Unlike GWB, maybe, after an attack happens, Obama believes in getting as much information as possible before going to war with whichever country seems like fun at the time.
It is improper for leaders to ‘shoot from the lip’. Even police investigating local crimes don’t give us info until they think they know as much as possible. Reports on NPR, BBC, and other stations suggest phone calls which might have alerted the Libyan embassy to imminent threat were intercepted that same day and were still being studied when the “Hate Movie” and some extreme moslem immans instigated the riots in Cairo. The last info I saw suggests the attack was planned but the world wide riots and protests gave Al Qayadah a smokescreen which understandably confused our intelligence community. I would rather have a leader who waits for all of his information before making comments and decisions. Had Bush done so, we would not have lost so many men and women in Iraq and Bin Laden would have died alot sooner and we might even be out of Afghanistan before the war dragged our economy down and savaged so many families and bodies of our sons and daughters.I believe Cheney and others who had interests in companies making profit from the war in Iraq lied to Bush which was one of the reasons Rumsfeld was, released. With Mind Open,C.
It is unthinkable that Al Qayadah doesn’t have a score of planned assaults waiting for the “stars to align” in just the right way as to make it possible to get their people in position to do the most damage. It is nearly unbelievable our intelligence community, in conjunction with friends and allies from other nations, have made it so difficult for these hopelessly misguided fanatics to attack us outside of the war zones. I agree with you that AQ in libya had been hoping for a way to get close to the american embassy while a high ranking official was visiting. I don’t believe they would have been as successful had not information coming from Cairo and other embassies not suggested to the ambassodor these people were anything other than peaceful protesters of the movie that has done so much harm. A rash of phone calls occurring the day of the attack, still being examined, may have been the ‘go sign’ for the Libyan extremeists. However, isn’t it amazing how many Libyans came out in support of the USA and expressing loss of Ambassador Stevens? Isn’t it encouraging that they stood up against some of the extremist groups in their city and, at the loss of lives, drove them from the city?Grateful for Brave Americans and Good Friends,C.
“What would you want Obama to do if they killed your loved one?”
Locate and punish only the perpetrators, not whole nations, as “W” and Cheney did. It took years, and yes, excess violence, but at least Obama DID get the job done, and saw the real job was to punish the guilty, not the innocent. Hopefully, he will be true to his word, and promise, and seek a way to do the same in this instance.
btw: I did have the “opportunity” to deal with those who killed a loved one. “Civilization” CAN be eroded by revenge, but reflection after years of “consideration”, shows that to be “human error”.

And yet the righties want him to solve the situation in Syria as well? Where do you stand on that Mr. Gorrell? Oh, right, “nuke ’em til they glow”.

And, maybe, this new information may cause Obama to re-categorize incidents based on that information
