It’s interesting, the purpose of Starbleach. The planets it visited and the beings it found were not the least bit strange or exciting. I mean, the planets had essentially the same atmosphere, gravity, etc as earth, and the beings were all humanoids that spoke English (!). What exactly WAS the purpose of that mission?

Mystery abounds in Milo’s Starbase. And Grace Jones was certainly hot, if unconventional. Let’s do the Timewarp!

There was that one green chick who got Kirk pretty hot and bothered.

Not quite all were humanoid. The Horta were just big blobs of lava. There was “The Companion” that was a cloud of glitter. Probably others too. But to Kirk, exploring the universe meant in his bedroom, so they had to stick mostly to aliens with the right parts.

The episodes would get a bit thin if they find an new race on a planet with a toxic atmosphere and 2X the gravitational force. Kirk – “Well, can’t go down there or we’ll all die. No conversation and no babes. NEXT!”

There was always at least two things that I could count on in the old Star Trek episodes: firstly, that a love interest for Kirk would inevitably show up. No matter how inhospitable the alien planet may be – there’s a hot chick hiding somewhere. Secondly, Kirk will have his shirt torn open during a fist fight. He should have just saved himself some trouble and bought tear-away shirts.

And of course the universal truth you could count on – if, at the beginning of the show, you see a guy in a red shirt on the bridge, he’ll be a goner by the opening credits.
