Back in the late 70’s I was a full time professional drummer for about 5 years. I finally gave it up and became a chiropractor. I still played in bands professionally. I often filled in for sick drummers and drummers that quit suddenly. Every time I would eat dinner or hang with the professionals, their conversation always drifted to the lack of money. The smart ones were married to doctors, lawyers, accountants, etc.
