Barkeater Lake by Corey Pandolph for December 13, 2019
Transcript:
Driver: So, lessee... I'm taking you to the hotel Barkeater. Driver: You must feel pretty good about yourself... A free flight to the country, as well as professional car service from the airport... Driver: And I'm so happy my hard-earned tax dollars could provide you with a nice, big overpriced hotel room, to boot! Delores: I'll stay away from the mini-bar. Driver: How considerate my hungry children thank you...
Too much editorial-ism. If I were D, I’d be tempted to smack the guy with a pie. It’s been a l-o-o-o-ng time since I was recruited. And I never was for a school district. But when I was for industrial positions, standard practice was to reimburse an interviewee for the cost of getting from where they were to the interview and back. The company made the arrangements, and I was expected to be prudent if they were not able to make a choice (e.g. limo expense or meals). As a matter of policy, I am; and I think most people are. If I (or anyone else) went crazy on something like meals, the company was always free to say “We just can’t pay that much.”
