The ols Capt. hasn’t been shipwrecked or run aground but his sails have been temporarily trimmed and he won’t be around Ballard Street for awhile.
No, I didn’t get banned by the GoComic Overlords. Worse, I’m confined to quarters for an indefinite period of time.
Last Wed. my ship’s surgeon, Dr. Slyce N. Dycem, decided it was time to scrape the barnacles of my left eyeball with his trusty, rusty razor. The good news, is that things are much brighter and clearer now. The bad news is that he wants me to abstain from watching tv or using the computer for 3 months. My original response was " FAT CHANCE " ( actually, the Spanish version is unprintable here ! ). We’ll see ( pun intended ) when I return for a checkup this Thursday.I managed to send my First Maite out on an errand so I could sneak this out to all my friends, so they don’t worry about my absence. First Maite has been hovering over me and taking excellent care, if a bit too motherly for my tastes.
Not to worry about supplies of rum, bananas, etc. to the Tiki . The good galleon The Irish Rover® will still be making regular hauls but with me locked in my cabin. ( And no key to the liquor locker…drat ! ).
I’ll be back soon ! Calm seas, fair winds and good sallin’ to you all !
Prays go out to all my old shipmates in Texas, Louisiana, and especially Florida !
Ahoy BALLARDEERS !
