    I wanted SO much to comment, but anything I could come up with just sounded creepy and distasteful.

    Dunno…..

    from;

    https://www.history.com/news/the-dark-side-of-the-grimm-fairy-tales

    “Even more shockingly, much of the violence in “Grimm’s Fairy Tales” is directed at children. Snow White is just 7 years old when the huntsman takes her into the forest with orders to bring back her liver and lungs. In “The Juniper Tree” a woman decapitates her stepson as he bends down to get an apple. She then chops up his body, cooks him in a stew and serves it to her husband, who enjoys the meal so much he asks for seconds. Snow White eventually wins the day, as does the boy in “The Juniper Tree,” who is brought back to life. But not every child in the Grimms’ book is so lucky. The title character in “Frau Trude” turns a disobedient girl into a block of wood and tosses her into a fire. And in “The Stubborn Child” a youngster dies after God lets him become sick.”

    Jonathon Swift, “A Modest Proposal”, tldr: eat the swarms of Catholic kids.

    It is highly ironic that when they are plump and tender, there is usually enough food around. When you have over bred the ecosystem and are starving, they are scrawny and not as nutritious.

    She had so many children and she named all of her sons Hansel and all of her daughters Gretel.

    Random Musings:

    “Dear Abby: I’m having a problem with a neighbor, the lady who just bought the house next door . . .”

    The witch needs a little course in salesmanship. “I love the taste of children” is kind of a strong way to lead off the pitch.

    I’ve always thought the original nursery rhyme contradicts itself. It says she didn’t know what to do, but then it tells us that she gave some them broth (without any bread), whipped them all soundly and sent them to bed. So she did know what to do. Whether you agree with or approve/disapprove of her parenting style is another matter.

    I’ve been trying to figure out why, for the past couple of hours, I’ve had the music from The March of the Wooden Soldiers (1934, Laurel & Hardy) going through my head, as well as a desire to watch it again. Just now I realized, it must be due to this cartoon.
