    Now seek it out and show compassion and understanding….. the monster will be no more.
    For left alone it will grow into a greater evil.

    Our monk just might do that. I think his face showed some pity for the monster in the second to last panel.

    That is the way of Zen.

    Why is this relatively easy to see and admit on the individual level, but not as it relates to large groups of people, even nations?

    @emptc12

    Because until the people (large group or nation) make the leader change the people will always follow the leader regardless of the consequences.
    You can get an idea of that viewing “Cloud Atlas”. A clone facing death points out to one archivist about the situations around him. He states no one will know….she points but now one does and its him.
    It all starts with the One……….

    @Richard

    Thank you for the comment. I didn’t think I would like that movie, but I did very much, and especially the the part of the story you describe — it had beautiful style plus dignity in its characters.

    It is a good movie.
    At the part I described.
    I cried.

    Gavin have you ever considered publishing these strips in a book? I love both the quotes you choose and the artwork.
