   In Colorado, there has been quite an uproar because a second grade boy in Loveland was suspended after he pretended to throw an imaginary grenade while on the playground! When I grew up, at recess, the kids often “played out” scenes from movies currently playing at the local theater. Can’t imagine what type of trouble today’s kids could get into for doing the same thing – since the majority of American movies are usually “action” films!    Meanwhile in the news, there is an 11 year old boy in an induced coma following a head injury from being struck by a bully at school. The bully was only suspended for 2 days. Seems a double standard, doesn’t it?

   YEARS ago, I attended a Guess Who concert. The lead singer, Burton Cummings, was singing a hit song with the lyrics, “Dont give me no hand me down world, I got one already.” And then he added, “And it sucks.” He was ahead of his time…..

   It’s so sad that the powers that be have their heads stuck in the ground so far that they can’t see that their ‘rules’ are making everything worse not better. ( And I meant to say ground)
