    Rita has probably changed the most through the years, nice to see the creative process behind her evolution.

    Hey, sweet! Is this how the whole week is gonna be? Awesome! My favorite Ritas are #s 2 and 5. Anyone else?

    Comic strip readers know the artists have a backlog of strips for the syndicates just in case. Jim Davis usually has a years’ worth.

    And Andre got it the first time. Kyle never was able to find that happy medium with Rita. Today’s Rita is more like a ditzy teenage girl trying on different identities and seeing which one sticks.

    I dunno in the last panel Rita looks like maria all grown up. Though In a way that sorta makes sense.

    1 from each decade Scott’s worked on the strip?
    He’s been working on it for 60 years? :)

    @Empress of Evil

    Nah, just today. Maybe in the future we could try this again. The rest of the week is reruns because I was on vacation for a week. There’ll be one from each year I’ve drawn the strip.

    I feel they all work, each in their own way. Kyle’s Rita, the one with the glare, worked very well for his style. Mine is different because I had less interest in doing a ‘bosses are evil’ approach. I wanted to show that she thinks she’s right and justified- but she’s obtuse and self involved.

    There was never meant to be a connection between Maria and Rita. It’s a combination of John writing the kind of gags that suit his style and outlook, and my getting more comfortable and drawing what comes naturally. Yes, it’s style, not intent.

    You could have done it the easy way and do what Bloom County does. Just say that Roy ate the strip and Rita and Dana are trying to figure out how to stop him. It works for Bloom County. It should work for here.

    This has become one of my favorite comics. I am a recent addition, so reading about the history is interesting. Thanks!

    So why did you have to add the really unfunny Startrek nerd?
