Working Daze follows the employees trapped at MacroMicroMedia. MMM is a wanna-be software giant, and it's staffed by geeks and clueless management types. VP Rita will try anything that might make a little money (though her ideas usually don't.) Underpaid Dana carries he place and keeps it running, while overpaid Ed sleeps all day. Roy and Kathy are made for each other, and everyman Jay never knows when to keep his opinions to himself. Writer/creator John Zakour is a humor/sci-fi writer, whose work includes the Zach Johnson detective novels. Artist Scott Roberts was a longtime contributor to Nickelodeon Magazine, and is the author of the fantasy novel The Troubling Stone. John and Scott met when they both worked on the Rugrats newspaper strip.

There is a certain type of letter. The kind where they made a mistake, usually in a bill. And you have to call the idiots up and get it right. these usually come on Saturday. So You get to spend the weekend being upset, while the idiot enjoys his carefree weekend.

Cruel punchline. Really cruel.

Not to deliver on Saturday will save them a lot of money for the executives’ bonuses …

If they were not being forced to prepay 75 years of pension off in under 10 they would be profitable and not need to cut services or lay people off. Congress screwed them over big time.

Yes, and there are times when I think credit card issuers time the “grace” period around weekends. Tough on those who have to wait for payday.

And if Congress would stop skimming all their ‘profits’ off the top, the USPS wouldn’t always be running at a loss.
Like the Social Security Trust Fund, those crooks in the Capitol decided “Oh, the Gummint cain’t make a profit, we gotta give that back to the ‘peepul;’ let’s find somewhere else we can spend it!”
And thus, SSA is broke, the Post Office is broke – and thanks to a bunch of left- and right-wing fanatics who REFUSE to compromise on ANYTHING to get their JOBS done, the Federal Government’s Executive Branch is in the process of Shutting Down.
But we’ll still be paying taxes, won’t we?

Hmmm… all these snarky comments because Roy is addicted to his personal electronic devices and does everything online. I thought the strip was funny. Poor Roy.

Wasn’t meant to be cruel. Meant more to show changing perspectives.

as much as I use my computer for e-mail and facebook and such, I still enjoy getting a real live handwritten letter from someone. I have a few relatives that don’t have computers and still write and it is a real treat to get a letter. I wish I had saved all the letters that my mom sent me when I was first married and lived 4000 miles away from her. Back then there were no computers and phone calls were very expensive (1968). I think doing away with Saturday delivery will be ok, I mean that is usually the junk mail day anyway.

changing the subject, I know that’s Captail Picard standing behind Roy but who is the other one? Cn’t place him.

USPS should be privatized. Horrible waste of tax payers money.

I used to get my mail at noon every day! Now it barely makes it here at 5 pm!

My grandmother worked at the post office. It was in a small town and she would be the only one working on Saturdays. She would let us in the back to play with the rubber stamps. We had to be quiet when people came in. Very much against federal regulations. Always fun, always on Saturdays.
