Working Daze follows the employees trapped at MacroMicroMedia. MMM is a wanna-be software giant, and it's staffed by geeks and clueless management types. VP Rita will try anything that might make a little money (though her ideas usually don't.) Underpaid Dana carries he place and keeps it running, while overpaid Ed sleeps all day. Roy and Kathy are made for each other, and everyman Jay never knows when to keep his opinions to himself. Writer/creator John Zakour is a humor/sci-fi writer, whose work includes the Zach Johnson detective novels. Artist Scott Roberts was a longtime contributor to Nickelodeon Magazine, and is the author of the fantasy novel The Troubling Stone. John and Scott met when they both worked on the Rugrats newspaper strip.

Did anyone see Leverage on TNT the other night? The villain of the week was a very ambitious woman wearing suits and carrying a water bottle working in a Walmart type business. I wonder if the writers of Leverage are readers of Working Daze.

Some people ask about Rita’s bottle, and one even suggested it was unladylike to carry one. But I really did get the idea from seeing real life Rita types clutching bottled water. And from a TIME magazine piece about bottled water, which maintained that women were more likely than men to carry it around. So this character on TNT may be based upon the same observations.

I watched part one of Galaxy Quest yesterday. I don’t think there is a part two they are trying to get you to buy it.

I know that in my case, the only reason why I carry bottled water is because I have a sinus condition that tends to dry me out. Otherwise, I could easily do without.

I did. I love Leverage and also like the Big Bang Theory.
My husband and I were talking about when we were kids and would go off playing all day and hardly ever stopped to drink anything. We didn’t know what a bottle of water was! Now people can’t walk to the mailbox without a bottle of water. How did we ever survive????

That’s good. I was afraid Rita might have some kind of oral fixation. On the other hand, she may have gin or vodka in there. That’s not unheard of in the corporate world.

Settlers of Catan is decent, but for a better entry level boardgame give me Carcassonne or Ticket to Ride any day…

Why not just do Apples to Apples?

Back when I was a paid English tutor for the local community college I actually used to recommend it as a vocabulary builder.

No they don’t have “similar characters.” You might as well add Jimmy Neutron to it too.

You dont’ want Rita around after hours.

Rita looks almost un-bosslike. I’d run for cover.
