Working Daze follows the employees trapped at MacroMicroMedia. MMM is a wanna-be software giant, and it's staffed by geeks and clueless management types. VP Rita will try anything that might make a little money (though her ideas usually don't.) Underpaid Dana carries he place and keeps it running, while overpaid Ed sleeps all day. Roy and Kathy are made for each other, and everyman Jay never knows when to keep his opinions to himself. Writer/creator John Zakour is a humor/sci-fi writer, whose work includes the Zach Johnson detective novels. Artist Scott Roberts was a longtime contributor to Nickelodeon Magazine, and is the author of the fantasy novel The Troubling Stone. John and Scott met when they both worked on the Rugrats newspaper strip.

I used to hate evaluations, I used to do them on the new employees in my department. I had my own once every 6 months for efficiency. My old Supervisor used to ask me every 6 months “Why should I keep you around?” I’d have to answer him with “Because you have no idea how to do the monthly inventory or requisition paper work with out me.” and we’d have a good laugh.

I am so glad to be away from that corporate crap.

@riverhawk
The corporate work place isn’t all that horrible the pay is generally good advancement is sometimes slow and often you see folks who work less advance faster but it beats alot of the other jobs I’ve had to do lately I actually miss corporate work now that I’m in the retail market.

The level of phoniness isn’t much different, in my experience. I’ve worked in both environments. I’ve also been in warehouse distribution, and there’s plenty of drama and comedy there as well.

I am retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Most of the silly games played in this strip are played there too. It is so cool to be retired.

same here I also did alot of warehouse work for the same company I moved up from the warehouse and manufacturing to office work in the corporate capacity. Right now I’m working temp work and alot of 90 day jobs in the retail market. mostly due to the really poor economy, I worked for 11 years for the same company until 2 years ago.

And every time. And when he comes for his review, he always remembers to bring another WORLD’S BEST BOSS coffee mug.

I don’t miss it- except that I made more money there. Comics don’t pay like they used to. All this hot air about how everybody was going to get rich working on their computer? Maybe a handful have, but for most of us there’s no realistic model in place for this to turn into income.

I also am a USPS retiree, for about 9 years now. I still get nightmares about the place, and I know other retirees who also have them.

I don’t miss the work at all I just miss the income, I made almost 3 times what I make doing what I do now and temp work is very inconsistant. I don’t think anyone is doing as well as we have in the past. Hopefully things turn around for everyone, every venture I’ve tried has pretty much left me holding my empty wallet so to speak.
