tennis can be difficult if you are uncoordinated, not athletic, couch potato who only way of running is pressing x. it can be also expensive with the gear. better tennis shoes, rackets, apparel, equipment ie ball launcher, lessons, balls, court time on different surfaces ie grass, clay, hard. diet, etc.. not too mention the opportunity costs of playing tennis and not doing other tasks

Because the number zero has a similar shape to an egg… the egg in French is l’œuf… to the English ear l’œuf sounds like love… Convoluted but true.

@Prof: or could come from the French l’heure (the hour) if you accept the theory that they first kept the score on the court clock. 0 (the hour), 15, 30, 40 mn… Which in turn came from the way the game of paume was played (the ancestor of tennis).

if she is so geeky. Why,did she not know ‘ALL’ of the rules, before she started. Not like a geek,to read all instructions and then interpret them for her own use.

And why does she look so good in a tennis outfit and so dumpy in her regular clothes?

Because the regular clothes themselves are dumpy. It’s what she’s used to. And it’s hard to buy its of new stuff on what Rita pays her.

It’s not that she hasn’t learned the rules- it’s that she only knows them in theory. This is the first opportunity to put them into practice.

That’s the story I’ve heard. The term “Mayday” also comes from the French. More to the point, it comes from an English speaker’s mishearing of French. The original phrase is ’M’aidez!’ meaning ‘Help me!’ To an English speaker, this sounds like the words ‘may day.’ A French speaker could also say "aidez moi,’ which doesn’t sound like anything in English. If your plane is spinning, though, you probably want to say what’s quickest.

In my case, tennis is difficult because my dominant eye and dominant hand are opposite each other, meaning that I have difficulty tracking and responding to moving objects.
    []
At least with archery, though (when I do get a chance to practice), I have a still target and so I can correct for the inherent parallax error of trying to sight with everything being cross-wired.
    []
(To be specific, I have to aim to the left of and just above where I think the target is; if I try to fire straight on, it goes low and to the right.)

Because she’s Roy’s beard. That’s why Roy had to shave his real beard off.

Well they can take it slow, but they can get better and healthier as time goes on. They will find their minds will work even better too. Their energy will go up as well.

That’s funny, Weasels. To me, Roy isn’t the same without the big beard. He just seems incomplete somehow.

I’m kind of hoping your explanation is NOT where his beard ended up, though. Ha.

My main issue with Tennis was playing outdoors in the hot sun. Raquetball in an air conditioned court works better for me, and I get a better workout.
