    This is like saying “Don’t feed the trolls” Just saying it is the same net effect in that it distracts from the conversation or just provides noise that drowns out the signal.
    .
    Handlesman is at the same time making fun of the public obsession with the Royal Family and at the same time he is adding to the din with this. (As am I, so i’ll stop)

    Yes, it is, and that’s fine. There are very few cartoonists who don’t occasionally exercise their right to be silly. I wouldn’t want it to be wars and fiscal cliffs and shootings and scandal ALL of the time.

    FYI, the photos all purport to be ONE square hole in ONE rock. Interesting, yes, but probably unimportant unless more are found.

    I wish the frickin’ “Royal Family” would just GO AWAY; who needs this anachronistic relic from feudal times, anyway? Time for the so-called Royals to Stop acting as if they were relevant and go get real jobs

    Mikeyj: Most do, and would demonstrate it more if Head of State (separate from Head of Government) duties didn’t interfere. At least it functions better than countries which combine the two and get presidents who wrap themselves in the flag and compile enemies lists. Monarchs are the flag. Many have been professional military/naval officers until quirks of succession suddenly called them to the throne. Elizabeth II proved she could still repair a Land Rover within the last decade and until retirement age, Phillip served on several geographic expeditions.. Hakkon of Norway was a competent symphonic conductor and the current King of Thailand would sit in on soprano sax with Benny Goodman and did not get “The Ray”. Etc..
