    Excellent. Now if he’d agree to women’s right to choose and high quality contraceptives at a moderate price (or free for the destitute) he will be perfect. As for the greedsters, they belong in prison, and I don’t mean club fed but a real prison.

    One doesn’t have to look hard to find wealthy men who were also religious men and who used their fortunes for good.
    []
    For example, hotel magnate Bill Marrriott used his connections in Congress to lobby Washington so that service members in the military could have access to a wider variety of chaplains in order to represent their religious beliefs. Before Bill, only Catholics and Baptists were accepted for posts as chaplain.

    Much of the activity of the Reagan years can be explained by the fact that Ronnie and Nancy were devout satanists. So devout that they insisted the head of the satanic Temple of Set, Colonel Michael Aquino, visit the White House wearing his satanic high-priest robe. With Reagan’s support Aquino was able to get satanism recognized as a protected religious belief in the military. Aquino was investigated by the military as well as the San Francisco Police Dept. when children identified him as head of a “Devil Worship Club” that ritually molested, murdered and cannibalized children. The court document notes that several members of the Army thought there was probable cause to “Title” Aquino with offenses of indecent acts with a child, sodomy, conspiracy, kidnapping, and false swearing – but the case was dismissed under pressure from the highest levels.

    What the Pope was saying was not money but consumerism. Buy so much it takes you away from people.

    @Ruff

    That’s nothing, one time I worked for Zales, the president of the company started a upgrade in all the stores in August. The job would take well over 9 months so it had to be stopped for the Christmas Holiday. Due to the upgrade the two best stores under Zales, the Vale Co. store and one in a Los Vegas Casino was closed. The woman was not president for 9 months and she still got over a 3rd of a million and it was well known she was warned by her IT staff. Less money but more obscene.

    Sure they are…. Doubtful since Satanism doesn’t really exist beyond those who just like to be contrary to the stick-in-the-mud anti-sex Christianity. Anton LeVey was at heart an Atheist.

    “Greed is good” started with that secular saint of the Conservatives Ayn Rand.

    Isn’t it interesting that the Catholic Church was just swell with the right wing and their media screamers during that kerfuffle about birth control in health insurance. Now the right wing and their media are screaming foul about the Pope’s message about obscene profits.

    I’m thinking the Pope is being heretical rather than blasphemous.
