They worship something else in the Vatican these days.

How do you know that the Pope wasn’t listening?

Well, why should anybody? Where was it when priests were molesting children, where is it now that priests are molesting children? Quick! “Catholic priest” what’s the first word that comes to mind? Is it anything like jerk, pederast, vile, scum, thief (which would be an improvement) predator, evil?

Christendom, as opposed to Christianity is alive and well
in both Catholic and Protestant persuasions…neither even
knows what the Bible actually SAYS, much less teaches from it

There is nothing there to be listened to. And if there was, it would be a monstrous, egocentric, brutal psychopath.
The bible is a violent porno rag.

Dude you are a bigot plan and simple. Violent yes but violence in itself is not bad porno rag no. Have you ever read the bible.

A lot of people who complain against the bible haven’t read it either.

I’ve read it. It it is fairly subjective and contradicts itself often.

I’m not Catholic, I’m not Christian, I’m not religious in any way, but I don’t much like anti-Catholic prejudice. There are a lot of wonderful priests and nuns. Please don’t blame everyone for the sins of a few.

They don’t listen because just as many bad things happen to good people as happen to bad people. Which is why some of us are quite sure that you ain’t there.

One of the most misunderstood aspects of the Papacy is the tern “infallibility of the Pope”. It doesn’t mean that every word he speaks is correct, it refers to situations where he has to make the final decision on a debate concerning Catholic law or doctrine. It has only been invoked twice (that Jesus was to be considered divine, and that Mary was a Virgin until death) in history. I think what Benedict may be doing is stepping aside because he no longer feels he has the capacity to make a ruling that would affect the church permanently if he was called upon to do so. I think the last thing the Catholic Church needs today is someone who may be senile making life changing rulings that would require years of debate to undo.

No different than in earlier times. (Better study Vatican history.)

The Bible is a self contradictory porno rag. Violence, rape, slavery all is accepted and at times condemned.
