I always thought “whistle-blowers” were good guy who make known the crooked stuff or illegal stuff to people .

The gates to the plant were made by the same guy who made the ones that read “Arbeit Macht Frei”…

I had to dig deep for a comment . After doing due diligence in researching my response to this, and being fueled by a desire to unearth some pithy, I realized that I was simply strip mining.

    That wasn’t a canary… it was a stool pigeon.

I vaguely recall this strip is about something that was in the news not too long ago. Metaphorical grist; rats will scurry from a collapsing mine, sensing it before people.

I think that we should be suspicious of any concentration of power. Sure, unions are not to be trusted but they don’t threaten our freedoms as much as multinational corporations do simply because they are not as big or as powerful.

Jimjammer forgot to make his weekly crack where he hilariously refers to the president as “the anointed one” as if liberals and democrats haven’t frequently criticized Obama (albeit for his administration’s actual policies instead of the nonsensical gibberish from the right’s fevered imaginings).
