Our northern neighbors resemble that remark.

If synchronized swimming can be an event, why not?

Let me know when napping becomes an Olympic sanctioned event.
    I’m a medalist, for sure!

Hmmm … synchronized swimming at the Winter Olympics would be interesting.

It’s a multi-part event. Eating pizza, drinking beer, then taking a nap.

Flappy Bird’s been discontinued because it’s too much of an Olympic success.

A lot of those judged events (gymnastics, figure skating, synchronized swimming) require a lot more physical strength and skill than some of the “traditional” sports like shooting. Never could figure how shooting a gun is called an athletic event.

It’s not a game or a sport if the result depends on subjective judgment. Even tho skating and showing off on a snowboard require athletic prowess, they are exhibitions not sports.

When the Olympics are involved with all the attendant tourism and advertising, everything becomes an exhibition.

Don’t knock Curling—it takes real skill to sweep to just the right point—plus considerable knowledge of the physics of angular momentum.

…i’m not sure about this (didn’t bother googling) but wasn’t the pentathlon originally the skills that a good soldier would need?…

It’s also ridiculously boring to watch.
