Actually, it is not money itself, but the love of it that is the root of all evil. 99% know this, 1% prove it.

Money doesn’t bring you happiness, unless you have lots of it.

If money is the root of all evil, why did our church always want so much of it?

The ten commandments don’t apply to the church.

For what it’s worth, I know there are charlatans (as there are in every field), but most churches operate at a deficit pretty much all the time. These days especially the costs are incredible, but unlike a business, there is nothing to raise prices on. The increase in operating expenses has to come from voluntary giving and fundraisers. And trust me, most pastors aren’t getting rich. These days, about half are part-time, making ends meet with other employment (yet expected by congregations to put in full-time hours).

And even if they did, hoarding money isn’t one of them. Neither is child molestation.

So a representative of McDonald’s contacts an emissary of the Pope and says his company will donate $1 billion per year to the Catholic Church if it changes the line in the Lord’s Prayer from “give us this day our daily bread” to “give us this day our daily burger.”

The emissary takes the message to the Pope, who then summons his cardinals. He tells them, "Gentlemen, I have good news and bad news.

“The good news is we’re going to make an additional $1 billion each year.

“The bad news is we’re going to have to terminate our contract with Wonder Bread.”

    Cute story! I like it.
If churches have so little money, how can they afford all these big, beautiful churches they are always building?

For the love of money is the root of all evil. So many get it wrong.

So are you saying that child molestation is not a sin?
    .
About time that we abandoned the Bible, then.
