my mind’s got a mind of its own.
my mind’s got a mind of its own.
Takes me out a’walkin’ when i’d rather stay at home
take me out to parties when i’d rather be alone
my mind’s got a mind of its own

I sent my mind a-wandering to find the comic strip,
For GoComics let the comics go off on a little trip…

I had to go to the NAVQ site to see it, but I do like the little ditty.

Is it your’s, Pab? It sounds so much like what goes on in my head, only I go straight up and THEN wander around.
    .
As my stepmother used to say, “the lights are on but there’s no one at home”.

Some say our minds aka souls go a wandering when we sleep. Others say that we go to other universes or create our own for our dreams. I say they are part of deep set ideas and feelings that get some play as our brain lights up like mad when we sleep.

Like Two Ravens on my shoulder
    Thought and Mem’ry, I don’t lack.
Though the World keeps growing older,
    My Ravens keep coming back.

I have some one else’s dreams. I don’t recognise any of the other people in them.

    " To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
    Must give us pause…."

His mind is lucky to have survived a trip down Rt 1 through Baltimore. Some real nasty neighborhoods along that route.

If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, its feet probably hurt and it’s looking for a place to soak them until they get itchy again.
