They should have been more covered up. Wouldn’t lose my appetite for that.

Welcome to the Metropolitan Washington, DC area.

What? You have never been on the DC Metro Line? This is nothing. You should see what I see.

Young (mostly) and older men (I’ve seen more women get up for the disabled) dont get up for pregnant women or get their dead asses out of the seats that are reserved for the handicapped during this day and age.

    What a bunch of jerks!

Young punks will take your phone, wallet or life at their convenience on this terribly mismanaged subway service.

Nothing new here in the mass transit arena.

Just another missive from the Old and grouchy Sarge

Whoa there, Waykirk! Do you wanna drive people to the vile suburbs? (Suburban is to urban as substandard is to standard, after all.) I, too, ride the DC trains and buses on a regular basis, and have found that their ridership represents no better or worse than typical American society. Self-absorbed people exist, crime exists (I’ve seen the reports, but haven’t personally witnessed it), but I have also seen people move for those who are in greater need of a seat. And in those cases in which people don’t appear to be making an effort to give up a seat, it’s often because it’s so crowded that those who are seated would struggle to get up in the first place. Don’t blame your observations on the Metropolitan DC area, blame it on general trends in society. Or on smokers. They piss me off.
