Art holds a mirror up to Nature. The Buckets come along, turn the mirror on Art and say, “Look how goofy you’re acting. Now get to work, Art. Your kids need an Xbox 360.”
The Buckets comic strip isn’t a parody of family life. Parodies are filled with hearts and rainbows or enraged tirades and dramatic confrontation. The Buckets, though? Nope. Real life, baby. It’s funny because it’s on a page and not in your house at the moment. Next week, when it’s happening to you, you’ll thank us for reminding you that it’s supposed to be funny.
Greg Cravens looks in the mirror and see not himself, but all of us. And then he draws up the silly, grand, goofy, thrilling, utterly human things we do and calls it The Buckets.

Doesn’t mean Jon couldn’t also have a day job. Especially one that is part-time.

Not to worry – GoComics doesn’t carry “Goats”…

Actually, “Goats” is on a sadly-extended hiatus that won’t end until he finishes self-publishing his fourth in the series of books from the long-running comic story (my favorite is “The Corndog Imperative”, in which he branched out from talking animals to talking vegetables). But he is making almost-daily comic commentaries on modern society via alternate universes in “Tales from a Multiverse”, at the semi-easily accessible amultiverse dot com.
That said, he could have just as easily said Kristopher Straub, who is on gocomics with reruns of his best comic “Starslip”, or Doug Savage whose “Savage Chickens” is simultaneously own-sited and gocomic-ed, but those don’t look as much like the name of a congressperson.
Of course, he could’ve used the name of Greg Cravens, who also has a webcomic, but would that be showing too much Hubris? (I have wanted to make that joke for SO LONG)

Yes. I Googled this Jon Rosenberg person. He exists.
.
I know the names of my MP and MLA.
.
Toby did well. Of course if all things being equal and hold true. ……. this will be the only name he remembers of who is his congressperson. …. Later …. it will be a surprise every election.
