Careful, that snail might speed things up.
(Probably has a cousin in the Post Office.)

This applies to bank tellers, post office workers,……anywhere there’s a line-up and the only power the clerk has is “I’m going to make your day drag.”

I realize this is a common cartoon trope, but I’d like to give a big shout-out to the workers at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, who have always been prompt and courteous whenever I’ve had occasion to deal with them.

Don’t you just love being in a queue with one window open and three other tellers pretending they are doing something important that has to be done right now?

Now if the snail’s attitude were bad, then he’d fit right in for sure.

If that snail’s attitude was bad, he’d be made supervisor in no time.

A while ago I was getting a license plate renewed and had gotten there just as it opened. The woman at the counter was quite nice, cheerful, and helpful. As I was leaving I overheard that it was her first day, so I figured that explained it.
