    Why don’t we rename this system the “Copernicus System” in his honour. We could live on Copernicus 3, or maybe call ourselves Copernicans.

    Aristarchus of Samos had come up with the idea in the 3rd century BC. And more than a century before him, Philolaus suggested that the Earth and other planets, along with the sun and moon, all revolved around a ‘central fire’‘; it wasn’t heliocentrism, but it was the first known non-geocentric idea.
