    What isn’t fair is that those who do the actual work in a company usually work in a warehouse that isn’t heated or air-conditioned, and have to come in before the Lord wakes up, not to mention that they make the lowest wages.
    Those who have the easiest jobs make more money off the backs of the actual laborers, come into work later and have climate-controlled offices.

    Sounds like you need to improve your skills so you can get one of those so-called easy jobs.

    They are security guards, who come into work for a 12 hour sift, and get yelled at if 1) they take a meal break [even though, in Ontario Canada, it’s legally mandated to give them one], or 2) they go to the washroom.
    I used to work 12 hours without a/c and barely working heat. I’ve done “parking control” from 5am-11am, standing in ONE spot, not being given a chair, when it was 20 Degrees Celsius below zero.
    They way I see it … warehouse workers get the “good life” as at least they get their legally mandated meal and washroom breaks. I was told if I complained to the labour board, I’d be fired.

    Skills are important but its quite interesting when someone who knows nothing gets paid more than someone who knows alot, no wonder companies fail when they pay the college grad a ton and the folks who know what is going on, nothing…they lose a grunt and they lost their knowledge and suffer.

    Although for Brutus I’ll say a weekend of 5 days and a work week of 2 is still not fair in the opposite direction, to be fair it would need to be a 3 and half day work week.

    More than 40 years ago I worked a warehouse-type job for part of a summer, and discovered that if you could even follow directions competently, you could hardly help but be promoted. Maybe that’s changed, maybe not.

    Move to USA, Security Guards here work 12 hour shifts, they are not yelled at for taking meal breaks, and they’re allowed to go potty.

    So, Canada is harsh for workers?
    Canada does not enforce the Labour Laws?

    @Tigger

    Canada enforces labour laws everywhere but Quebec. This is a very rare exception.
    But thanks for the snarkiness Tigger. I will take a Canadian company over an American one any day of the week. Apparently you people HAVE no labour laws.
