Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875–1950) was an American author. He is best known as an early influence in the science fiction genre, specifically through the creation of his best known series, Tarzan of the Apes and John Carter of Mars. He was a prolific author in general and made contributions to many other genres.

I’ve seen Tarzan riding giraffes many times, so gazelles, zebras….even pterodactyls and Argus, his giant bird.
