I take it this Is going to be a revisit of the NHL’s experience of hiring Stan Lee to create superheroes based on each team a few years ago. I know there probably aren’t that many hockey fans following this strip, but either way, if you haven’t heard about it, that tells you how well it went!

Well, I suppose we could play along and come up with our own for the teams. At least Mr. Hinds knew enough to have Stan the Man exclaim “Excelsior!” (‘Nuff said). Namor (the Sub-Mariner) for Seattle’s too obvious but hey, it’s a start.

Here in Buffalo we looked forward to the creation of “Revisionist Man” to help us deal with ugly memories.

I don’t think I’ll ever forget the excitement and drama that summer of the home run derby between McGuire and Sota…

If people really understood what this strip, in general, was saying about American society, Bill Hinds would be hanging by his thumbs in a cell in Gitmo.

Thank God TANK MCNAMARA is “just a comic strip”!

It’s not realistic to assume the situation would go away because of “no advantage.” Athletes always look for an edge, so the development or promise of bigger and better PEDs would result in an arms (and legs) race.

That being said, I do expect that sometime in the next ten years, it will become legal for professional athletes to use PEDs, but not kids. (Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink.)

You have to remember that steroids are a violation of federal law, unless officially (and legally!) prescribed, so it never was a matter of “just” cheating, but of committing crimes. All that being said, I’m looking forward to this arc! Mr. Hinds is certainly keeping up the quality of this strip, and I’m sure that his late partner would approve.
