All other playoff systems seem to grow and grow, until just about every team that has won half of its games is in.

In fact, this year’s NBA playoffs had a team with less than a .500 record.

At least, that would give the pro scouts more chances to see prospects.

For literally decades, college football had a “mythical” national champion, based on polls. Then came the BCS system, and they had a mythical national champion. Now we’ll have a playoff, and we’ll have a mythical national champion…….

Simple solution: champions of all eleven conferences automatically get in.

Top 10 teams that didn’t win their conferences are the wild cards.

After the wild card games, the remaining 16 teams are sorted based on record.

But the idea of “picking” the four teams is junk. They’ll be the same four teams, from the same big markets, year after year.

It’s all about the Benjamin’s, baby.
